Whenever you see the RSS icon or the label RSS on the internet, you can access one or more feeds. Just click on them.
After clicking the RSS icon, your browser usually directly displays the feed along with a help section, so you can subscribe to it. If this doesn’t work, try re-installing or updating your browser – all current versions support RSS.
What is RSS? What is a feed?
The RSS feed is a news channel from QUEST to you.
Whenever we publish a new job/a new project offer, it is broadcasted through this channel – you are notified by useful programs or via the internet.
You determine the settings for subject and focus of project offers. You can customize and specify your RSS wherever you see the RSS icon.
How can I receive RSS in my browser/email management program?
Please check the browser that you currently use to read this text for its RSS suitability. You should be able to find all required steps in the help section. RSS readers are included in all common browsers:
- Internet Explorer for Windows PCs – starting from version 7
- Safari
- Opera
- Mozilla Firefox
- and a lot more
Firefox in particular can be upgraded to become a ‚news feed centre’ using free RSS add-ons. In most browsers, RSS feeds can simply be bookmarked – you can then find the most recent project offers in drop down menus.
If you prefer, you can also receive RSS feeds using the following email management programs:
- Microsoft Outlook for Windows PCs – starting from version 2007
- Mozilla Thunderbird
- Opera
How can I read an RSS?
In addition to their original purpose of displaying websites and sending emails, a lot of browsers and email management programs are able to manage and displays RSS feeds. All you will need to do is subscribe to a feed. No further managing is required – everything is handled by a single program, making this a very convenient option.
Portals such as Google such as Yahoo offer the creation of customized start pages that display all your favourite RSS feeds at a glance. The advantage of this option is that you can view this starting page from any PC on which you log in.
If you prefer to read RSS feeds without using your browser, you require an independent RSS reader or a suitable widget for Windows or Mac. The advantage here is that you are up to date without having to open your browser.
QUEST also offers RSS feeds for your mobile phone or PDA. With this option, you can always see the most recent jobs on your mobile device – allowing you to stay up to date while on the road.
Can I follow RSS on Google and other platforms?
You would like to create a list of your favourite RSS feeds? Just use the options available from numerous internet portals. They allow you to set up a custom list that you can view from any PC that can access the web.
Some portals, such as Google, even allow you to choose whether you’d like to read RSS feeds on a customized starting or overview page or in a list of news in a special reader tool.
All you need is an account for the web portal. Some of the biggest providers are:
- Google, in particular the services iGoogle and Google NewsReader
- Yahoo, the service myYahoo

RSS feeds can also be followed completely independent of browsers.

How can I receive RSS on my mobile phone /PDA?
Staying up to date while on the road: QUEST offers an RSS feed for mobile phones and PDAs. With this option, the most recent project offers will be delivered to your mobile device and are always up to date.
How does it work?
The web browser of your mobile device must be equipped to manage RSS. If it doesn’t, you should update it to the latest version.
Either your browser offers you to subscribe to the RSS feed automatically – just click once to always receive the latest news.
Or you will need to enter the address of the RSS feed in question manually: Simply type in mobil.quest-online.de/rss.do into your browser – and the general QUEST feed will be added.
